One Live To Live: Haskell's Back!

 By Jesse Murray

Good things come in threes, and we've got proof: With the news of Andrea Evans and Tuc Watkins returning to "One Life to Live," as Tina Lord and David Vickers , comes official word that Susan Haskell is coming back to the show as Marty Saybrooke.

Yes, THAT Marty Saybrooke -- Cole's (Brandon Buddy) mother. The woman Todd (Trevor St. John) raped in college. The person who finally started to get John (Michael Easton) to smile. And the one who went over a cliff in a van, which blew up and seemingly killed her.

Clearly, she's not dead. So what's going on? Is this somehow connected to Tina's return? The mysterious person Ramsey has hidden? The arrival of Kevin Spirtas's character? We CAN tell you that Marty's return -- scheduled for early June -- is an important piece of a larger, very exciting story that will help "One Life to Live" celebrate its 40th year in a big way!

A Family Affair

"I cannot be more excited," says "OLTL" head writer Ron Carlivati about Marty's return. He promises Marty will play a big role in Cole and Starr's teen pregnancy drama. "We've made such a point that [his unborn baby with Starr] is important to Cole, because he has no one and feels alone. The idea that ... his mother is alive makes it a much richer story."

Susan played Marty from 1993 to 1997. She won a Daytime Emmy for the role in 1994. The character of Marty returned to the canvas in 2006, played by Christina Chambers, but the actress exited last year with Marty's apparent death.

We're kind of jealous of Susan, because, in real life, she's married to Thorsten Kaye -- aka Zach Slater from "All My Children." They have two young daughters, McKenna and Marlowe.

What do you think is in store for Marty?
