Susan
Haskell (ex-Marty, ONE LIFE TO LIVE), the live-in love of PORT CHARLES’S
Thorsten Kaye (Ian; ex-Patrick, OLTL, both r.), will appear on PC beginning
April 18. ABC is keeping mum about what character Haskell will play or
the length of her stay, but will say the actress is appearing “in a series
of special episodes” and will provide “revelations about Kaye’s character.”
The most logical possibility
is that Haskell would reprise her OLTL persona, Marty Saybrooke, a role
she played from 1992-97 and for which she won an Outstanding Supporting
Actress Emmy in 1994. “I miss Marty,” Haskell said last year. “She’s still
my favorite character.” But rumors abound that Haskell will only appear
in flashbacks with Ian (Patrick’s brother), possibly as his dead sister
(huh?), a move that may surprise OLTL fans expecting to see Haskell and
Kaye romance each other again. (He played Marty’s love interest from 1995-97.)
PC has a habit of hiring
off-screen lovebirds: Real-life spouses Lynn Herring (Lucy) and Wayne Northrop
(ex-Rex; ex-Roman, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) appeared together in 1997-98; Jill
Murray North, wife of original cast member Nolan North (Chris), guest-starred
last August as Melanie.
So, how will PC reunite Kaye
and Haskell? “Anything’s possible,” smiles Kaye. |
